I am a self-taught artist who struggled with reading until I received help from a literacy tutor. When I had the courage to believe in myself, I felt I needed to expand my life even more. I did this by going to my local library. I took out every book and DVD on art I could find to teach myself to paint with watercolors and to use computer programs to create this book.

Until I improved my reading and writing skills, I was scared of books because of the words inside, but my passion for art made me love to look at the pictures. "Ten Little Ladybugs" is the first in my See a Book Take a Look ™ series. I want to create lively beautiful books that anyone can enjoy. They are meant for adults and children to experience together, to become comfortable with holding a book and even to use the illustrations to create their own story. Becoming able to read has given me many opportunities, freedom to have choices and create my life's dreams.
